My youngest turned 4 in October. It was supposed to be a day of fun for the whole family. The theme was Farm Girl Princess and everything was coming together beautifully. We had planned on throwing her party in our back yard which would be filled with games, a pumpkin painting station, a photo booth and bouncy slide in addition to our backyard playground set and trampoline. We also purchased a Cotton Candy and Popcorn Machine. It was just PERFECT!!! Until we looked at the weather a week before the party. Mind you in August and September it was sunny and beautiful, not a cloud in the sky. Yet, that first week in October called for showers and much cooler temps. You know the saying “when you make plans God laughs,” well that’s exactly what happened here. God most definitely had plans for Lala’s birthday party. We, unfortunately, had to cancel, but instead of having such an elaborate affair we decided on a much smaller scaled down version with just family.

The whole day this little Lala of mine had the biggest smile on her face. She screamed that it was the “Best Day Ever!!!”

It truly comes down to the simple things. Appreciating who and what you have. Sure this grand ole party could have had the potential to be so incredibly AWESOME!!! But then again, it wouldn’t have been as thoughtful or sentimental as her day turned out to be. Blessed beyond measure with this little Lala of mine, and truly thankful for God’s hand in all of this.
